Your First Visit to our Burlington Practice

What should I expect?
Okay, you’ve already called and scheduled your first visit – so now what?
Upon entering our office, you will be greeted with a warm smile and welcomed as a member of our family.
Chiropractic Care:
Chiropractic care is different than medical care. At Absolute Chiropractic, we address the whole body; the skeleton, nerves, muscles, and nutrition. It is this difference that offers natural ways to get well and to stay well. By consulting us, you are taking an important step towards achieving your optimal level of health and wellness; to be the best that you can be!
Our Policy:
In our office, we believe it is your body, your money, your time and your responsibility regarding YOUR CARE. Therefore we believe in giving you as much information as possible to make an INFORMED DECISION. Then you can expect us to stand behind you and support YOUR CHOICE, and keep you aware of health options that can change your life by helping you achieve your health goals.
First Visit:
During your initial visit, you will be asked to complete your confidential patient information describing yourself, your health history and your health goals.
This paperwork provides us with general information about yourself, your family, your condition and your quality of life goals (for example: “I would like to be able to bicycle again”).
Consultation:
You’ll then meet one of our doctors, where you will have an opportunity to consult with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, your concerns, as well as your potential care options. This meeting will allow us to get to know each other a little better, to explore your specific health issues and explain a bit more about Chiropractic care in our office and what we have to offer.
Examination:
After your consultation with the doctor, you will receive a complete chiropractic examination. This includes a digital posture analysis, range-of-motion tests to determine your ability to turn and bend, as well as other specialized tests to determine which functions are affected and to what extent. These tests also can help us to locate areas of your spine that may be the cause of your problem. This will provide the doctor with valuable information regarding your condition; so that we both may better understand how we can help you. Only when necessary in trauma cases, will X-rays be required. In most cases, the initial consultation/examination lasts approximately 30 minutes and the digital imaging procedure will take approximately 20 minutes.
Spinal Adjustment:
Depending on the complexity and severity of your case, adjustments may or may not be done on your first visit. You and the doctor will have an opportunity to discuss this option. Remember, nothing is done without your consent.
Chiropractic Video:
Next, you will be asked to watch a short 18 minute video “Welcome to Chiropractic” explaining the Art, Science and Philosophy of Chiropractic.
